System of Government in Pakistan

There are many Pakistanis of the opinion that there exists no system of Government in Pakistan. The reason is that there is lawlessness and injustice at its peak. That frustrated people as there is no justice for the poor and all the doors of evil injustice are open for the powerful and rick people.

Legally speaking Pakistan has the Parliamentary System of Government. The Priminister is the most powerful man in Pakistan according the constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, 1973. On the other hand President is the head of state with almost having no powers. He is legally bound to give consent to the Senate on the bills passed and to the Priminister on most of his executive orders. The President only enjoys the status of being the most important person in Pakistan.

There is a system of bicameral legislature in Pakistan. It means that there are two houses of parliament in Pakistan. One is the National Assembly and the other is the Senate. The representatives of National Assemblies are called members of national assembly (MNA). MNA's are elected through the process of General Elections which are conducted after every five years. The elections of Senate on the other hand are conducted after every 6 years and the elected members of national assembly vote to elect them.

The primary role of Parliamentarians is to make laws but in Pakistan they have to perform double duties. They do not usually allow funds to be circulated among the local government. For that they are always a block in the way of local government elections. All the development funds of constituencies are usually issued to the parliamentarians and among such funds lots of corruption is done.

System of Government in Pakistan is a blend of Khilafat, Monarchy, Aristocracy and Democracy.. That is why its not working well.. The constitution is Islamic conceptually showing the PM as the Khilafat and Parliament as the Majlis-e-Shura.. However on the implementation it shows that President is like the Governor General of British times and his Governors are his representatives in the provinces. Factually the military rules the country. Sometimes from the back and sometimes on the front as in shape of dictatorship..

Things are really messy in Pakistan and the people of Pakistan are very hopeless these days.. The only solution to a better system in Pakistan is if a good man imposes martial law probably that can work.. May Allah bring good times to Pakistan (Ameen)
