Data Architect Required

Reporting directly to the CTO, the Principal Data Architect will lead the data architecture across all of Rapid7’s product lines. We see a scalable, consistent and flexible data architecture as one of the key drivers to continued innovation. The ideal candidate will have expertise in big data, data warehousing, and “mixed workload” environments blending both operational and analytics use cases. The Principal Data Architect will be expected to work "hands-on" with the product teams to see his or her visions and designs become a reality. He or she will work closely with the CTO, Product Management, Engineering and our customers to understand today’s data problems and develop a roadmap for the evolution of Rapid7’s data architecture.

Responsibilities

Work with the engineering leadership team to identify technical hurdles and create innovative solutions across the Rapid7 product lines
Create cross-product data dictionary and define data models for new features
Evaluate and select the big data stack for use within applicable product lines
Build and document data architecture for new product lines
Define the data deployment, data retention/backup strategy and data security model for new product lines
Evaluate the data architecture for existing product lines and recommend improvements
Identify and fix performance issues within data architecture and implementation across all Rapid7 product lines
Define performance profiling of Rapid7 products as related to data architecture
Take on a lead role in handling difficult technical issues that may arise including query debugging, schema debugging, and deployment/performance issues.
Proactively recommend improvements/enhancements to processes, development environments, and general product knowledge
