The Omega Staff has immediate needs for Contract Software Quality Engineer in their Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX facility.
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for ensuring the quality of consumer electronics-related software applications by planning, developing and executing functional test cases and scripts. The Software Quality Engineer creates functional test cases/scripts and test infrastructures for the product or features being tested. The incumbent leads the identifying, developing, creating and improving the functional testing processes, framework and infrastructure.
GENERAL DUTIES:
Works with software development teams to ensure the quality of assigned applications.
Reviews product requirement and design documents to determine scope of test development.
Leads the design reviews for the functional test definitions and plans.
Creates and executes test plans and test designs for the product or feature under test.
Creates manual and automated test cases/scripts and test infrastructures. Generates and maintains data needed to execute test scenario/scripts. Documents test scripts in a common repository.
Performs testing.
Provides metrics and reports on the software quality, including test results/status and defect reports.
Reviews user documentation and training materials for accuracy.
Maintains the proper test environments including the installation of products under test and complimentary products.
Leads the identification, development, and improvement of the testing processes/framework.
Supports the deployment of the software applications to internal and external customers.
